‘Channel I has ceased transmission since January 1st, 2005′

Blah! What should I watch now? There’s no prior notification that I know of. They just shut it down like that. Apperently MediaCorp Singapore bought the network of Channel I and Channel U. And they dropped Channel I and keep Channel U. Channel I is in English while Channel U is in Mandarin. At least that what I can understand about their new campaign:

MediaCorp TV - starting the new year with an addition to the family.

Since we moved to our new place in June last year Channel I is the main source of television entertainment for me because my 15″ television set which only have an indoor antenna can not get my favourite channel since 1996, Channel 5. I did try to adjust it about a hudred times or so but finally gave up.

Last night I rescan all the channels because the ‘ceasing transmission message’ really bothers me and suddenly Channel 5 appears on the screen! Voila! The reception is still not crystal clear but acceptable and I can watch it comfortably.

Now my television can receive channels : Channel 5 (Singapore), TVRI (Indonesia), Channel 8 (Singapore), TV3 (Malaysia), Arts Central (Singapore), Channel U (Singapore), Suria (Singapore), TPI (Indonesia), RCTI (Indonesia), TransTV (Indonesia) and SCTV (Indonesia).
