Google AdSense Competitive Ad Filter
Despite warnings by other AdSense Publishers in AdSense Forums @ WebMasterWorld regarding how Smart Pricing hates sudden changes in Competitive Ads Filter, I decide to start paying attention on what kind of websites are behind those AdSense Ads displayed at BatamWeb.net, and so the filtering begins.
Before long I found out that I already reach the 200 URL limit. I did filter the ‘get rich quick scheme’ ads before because those ads has nothing to do with what BatamWeb.net is about and they’re no use to BatamWeb.net visitors. It’s easy to spot and filter them then, but nowadays they became smarter in playing with the ads wording so you have to actually visit the those sites to find out whether they are indeed offering what they advertising.
By implementing this kind of filtering I hope that even if our visitors could not find what they are looking for in BatamWeb.net, at least it is easier for them to visit other legitimate sites where they might find what they are looking for since I already do the filtering for them. As Google said, this might have a bad impact on my AdSense revenue but I still think in the long term it might still benefit BatamWeb.net.
